Bloom's Taxonomy

Bloom's Taxonomy is a big piece of the Common Core Standards. This graphic compares the first Bloom's (1950's) with the Bloom's Revised (1990's). The nouns have become verbs and the top two levels have been exchanged. Much of our teaching focuses on the lower two levels of remembering and understanding. How can we reach the higher levels of Bloom's, the higher levels of thinking?

Bloom's Taxonomy Breakdown - download this PDF for a breakdown of the students' role, the teacher's role, process verbs, and products. This is based on the original taxonomy rather than Anderson's revised taxonomy but it will still be very helpful.
